Bridgend has a thriving small business sector, several large companies and increasing numbers of new homes, but we need better infrastructure to support the people who live and work here.
Without decent road and rail connections we will become a less attractive destination for businesses, tourists and residents. Without improved healthcare provision we will see increased waiting lists, A&E queues and worsening health outcomes for Bridgend residents.
We desperately need smaller, more local care units and more provision at the Princess of Wales. We need regeneration along the coast and in Porthcawl. We need better and more modern rail links, and improved connections to Cardiff Airport. We need to rethink our road networks and amenities, particularly in areas of recent development like Parc Derwen, Broadlands and Coity – people need houses but they also need schools, shops, doctors and dentists.
If elected I will work alongside the MPs and AMs of Ogmore and the Vale and the local councils for to get us what we desperately need.
I will fight for more investment in Bridgend’s vital infrastructure.
